Semi-Downdraft Spray Booth for Terex Campsie, Ireland

Client:

Terex Campsie

Facility Comprising:

Semi-Downdraft Dry Filter Spray Booth

Key Project Elements:

The project centred on transforming Terex Campsie’s existing concrete room in Ireland into a fully operational semi-downdraft dry filter spray booth, maximising the value of the existing infrastructure whilst minimising capital expenditure.

The Solution

Facility Overview

Unitech Machinery was commissioned by Terex Campsie to upgrade their existing facility in Ireland, converting a concrete room into a fully operational semi-downdraft dry filter spray booth. Rather than specifying a purpose-built structure from scratch, the project made full use of the client’s existing concrete room as the booth enclosure – a practical approach that significantly reduced capital outlay whilst delivering a fully functional finishing environment.

Semi-Downdraft Configuration

The booth was configured to a semi-downdraft airflow pattern, with air introduced through a perforated ceiling plenum and exhausted through filter media at the lower rear. This configuration directs a consistent airflow across the working area, encouraging overspray away from the operative and towards the extraction media.

Filter Media & Extraction

Synthetic filter panels are housed within a rear wall frame system, capturing overspray before air is passed through to the external plant. Twin plant units are installed at ground level under a purpose-built weather shelter, with extraction discharged to atmosphere via twin conical stacks mounted on the roof.

External Plant & Controls

All plant was installed externally under a dedicated weather shelter, keeping the booth interior completely clear for operations whilst ensuring the equipment remains fully protected from the elements. A dedicated control panel and electrical cabinet were installed adjacent to the access door, providing straightforward operational control of the entire system.
